CPT - Crawler Proven Technology Front Suspension Kit for Full-Size IH 4x4 Pickup & Travelall (1961-73)
Upgrade the sagging, outdated front suspension on your 1961-73 IH Pickup, Travelette, or Travelall with this CPT front suspension kit. This kit is designed to freshen up your ride using common 1973-87 GM leaf springs, offering both a modern upgrade and better ride quality.
Fits: 1961-73 IH International Harvester 110, 1100, 120, 1200 Series Pickup, Travelette, and Travelall.
Kit Includes:
- Rough Country leaf springs (Skyjacker can be special ordered for more upon request)
- Spring mounts
- Shackle hangers
- U-bolts
- Bilstein shocks
- All necessary installation hardware
Key Features:
- Minor cutting and drilling required (pilot bit, holesaw, and jig mounting plate included).
- Models from 1961-68 require an additional bumper bracket kit, included with your selection.
- New U-bolt plates are not included but can be added for $64.95 (CPT-UBOLT-PLT-HVDUTY-FS-SET for 4x4 only).
Choosing the Right Springs & Lift Height:
One of the most common questions we get is about how much lift you will get with different springs. While we can not guarantee exact lift due to the varying original springs in IH trucks, here is a general guide for Rough Country leaf springs:
- 2" Lift Leaf Spring: Approx. 1" of lift from stock. Soft ride. Not recommended for heavy bumpers. Clears most 33" tires.
- 2" Lift Leaf Spring w/ Add-A-Leaf: Approx. 3" lift from stock. Comfortable ride, not too firm. Clears most 35" tires.
- 4" Lift Leaf Spring: Approx. 5" lift from stock. Firm ride, ideal for towing. Clears most 37" tires.
- 6" Lift Leaf Spring: Approx. 7" lift from stock. Very firm ride. Clears most 38.5" tires.
Important Notes:
- U-bolts and hardware are designed for the original IH Dana 44 front axle. If you are using a GM Dana 44 or other manufacturer versions, different U-bolts or hardware may be needed.
- This kit may work with certain 1300 series chassis. For confirmation, send pictures of your front suspension to sales@ihpartsamerica.com.
- It may also work on some 2WD models and 900 series pickups, but different U-bolts will be required. Contact our parts department for details.
- If lifting above stock height, you will need new extended front brake hoses. Please call us to order the correct hoses, as IH used various brake options.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept returns on leaf springs due to cosmetic issues like paint or scratches. These are functional suspension parts, not show-quality components. If you will be using them on a show truck, be prepared to repaint them to your liking.
